Dear all, While I am aware of what the two terms mean, I have no idea on how much steampunk or punk rock(!) even, have in common with the ERE.

Contributions would be welcome.

Punk rock has a strong DIY, anticonsumerist, individualist ethos, all compatible with ERE.

Steampunk, or at least von Slatt's conception of it, has a DIY ethic of building things to personal tastes rather than buying mainstream products.
